Scott Wight, Staff SolicitorThe variety of legal work, and a Marlborough-born wife, brought American-born Scott to Blenheim. A former US Army officer, Scott and his family immigrated initially to Wellington where he completed his LLB at Victoria University in 2005. Scott worked with the Department of Immigration in Wellington before joining Gascoigne Wicks late in 2006. Working alongside Bernie Rowe in conveyancing and commercial law, Scott is utilising his contract negotiation skills. With three children, and a home to renovate, Scott's weekends are as busy as his working week. |

Caitlin Ryan, Staff SolicitorA Wellingtonian, Caitlin completed her LLB (Hons) and BA in Classics and Politics at Victoria University in 2006 before joining the corporate and property law teams of one of Wellington's largest law firms. After returning from provincial Ireland earlier this year, it was the variety of work on offer at Gascoigne Wicks that brought Caitlin to Blenheim. Since May 2009 she has been working with Paul Gibson, expanding her experience in the areas of commercial law, conveyancing, trusts, estates and company law. A horse rider, Caitlin is pursuing this interest while exploring the Marlborough region and the numerous outdoor pursuits on offer here. |

Kent Arnott, Staff SolicitorHaving graduated from Otago University with an LLB and BA, Kent and his wife Hannah made the move to Marlborough in 2008. An import from the deep South, Kent grew up in Invercargill. Kent works alongside Brian Fletcher, gaining experience in general practice with a focus on litigation. Interests include skiing and tramping. |

Laurie Murdoch, Staff SolicitorFresh from her OE based mainly in Ireland, Laurie began work with Gascoigne Wicks in June 2009. Originating from Scotland, Laurie emigrated to Dunedin with her family at the age of five. In 2004, she graduated from Otago University with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and an LLB. She has practised in Dunedin and Central Otago, working mainly in the areas of criminal, family and employment litigation. This interest will continue as she works alongside Gary Sawyer. Pursuing her interests in creative writing, Laurie is also looking forward to sampling the local produce and enjoying the relaxed lifestyle offered in Marlborough. |

Sonya Harper, Legal ExecutiveSonya first joined Gascoigne Wicks in 1989 and completed her Legal Executive training in 1992. She worked on estate administration before leaving to have her family. When the opportunity arose to return, Sonya began co-ordinating the scanning of wills and deeds into our system, before resuming responsibility for the administration of our estates in 2008. Sonya enjoys living on a lifestyle block with her husband and three children. |

Viv Rozee, Legal ExecutiveHaving grown up in Blenheim, Viv is one of our longest-serving employees, first joining us in 1986. After taking a break from studying for her Legal Executive qualification, Viv successfully completed the course in 2008. Viv now works with Bernie Rowe, Melanie Timms and Scott Wight, assisting with their conveyancing files. After many years being involved with dancing and theatrical groups, and now a keen gardener, Viv continues to enjoy Blenheim's lifestyle, with husband Peter and son Jonathan. |

Colleen Zietsman, Legal Executive
Fleeing Zimbabwe in 2002 because of political unrest, Colleen settled in Blenheim and started working for Gascoigne Wicks in the New Year of 2003. She completed her Legal Executive qualification in 2008. Colleen works with Paul Gibson, and handles a large percentage of his conveyancing files, while also assisting with wills and trusts. Enjoying their beautiful garden, Colleen and her husband Mike relish the lifestyle offered in the Marlborough region and have no regrets about choosing to settle here. |

Kay Nalsund, Practice ManagerHaving worked for Gascoigne Wicks since 2006, Kay is now very settled into the Blenheim way of life. With family in nearby Nelson, weekends are spent between the provinces. Kay worked as a Practice Manager for firms in both Nelson and Ashburton from 1989 - 1999. After 6 years in Local Government on the Gold Coast, family ties and a desire to return to legal practice management drew her back. The variety of work the role offers, from day to day administration, to budgets, HR and involvement in all facets of the practice, is both exciting and challenging. Interests include a passion for cooking, tasting our local wines and since her return, a resumption of motor boating in the Marlborough Sounds.
