Brian Fletcher

Brian specialises in commercial and civil litigation, resource management and employment law together with trusts and commercial transactions.

Brian grew up in Invercargill and completed his LLB at the University of Otago.  Returning home, he practiced in Invercargill for nine years and became a partner in a law firm there.

However, the wish to be closer to his wife's relatives in Marlborough prompted Brian to bring his family to Blenheim in 1988.

He became a Partner in Gascoigne Wicks in 1989.

Numerous appearances over many years in the District and High Courts, Environment Court and a range of tribunals have enabled Brian to build up extensive litigation experience.

More recently, Brian has moved into the area of estate planning and the establishment of trusts.

Brian and his wife Gail enjoy travelling.  Taking advantage of the firm's sabbatical arrangements for the partners, they have travelled to Nepal and India, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, the Middle East and South America.

A father of three, Brian served terms on various school boards of trustees during his children's schooling.

Brian served as President of the Marlborough District Law Society in 1994 and 1995.
