Gascoigne Wicks traces its origins back to 1879, when William Sinclair established the firm. Following several changes in name and partnership over the years, Arthur Wicks joined the practice in 1935. In 1945, he formed a partnership with Allan Gascoigne, creating the firm that proudly bears their names today.

The firm will celebrate its sesquicentenary in 2029, marking 150 years of continuous service. A defining feature of the firm's history has been the long-standing tradition of partners mentoring and supporting emerging talent, ensuring that each new generation is equipped to carry forward not only the business itself, but also the principles and ideals upon which it was founded.
